How this box is built

The body uses 1400 g greyboard with 157 g texture paper. That is above our 1200 g minimum for rigid boxes, and it is the weight we recommend for spirits, so the box resists warping even when two full bottles are inside. The facing paper is a textured stock that takes the red background and door god artwork cleanly.

The finish is UV coating with lamination. That combination protects the printed surface from scuffs during handling and gives the exterior a soft-touch matte feel. The double-door panels are cut to meet precisely at the center, and the magnetic closure is positioned to hold both panels flush. The leather handle is stitched and reinforced where it attaches to the board.

Bottle fit and insert

The insert is a universal card slot liner, so it works with standard bottle shapes rather than a single mould. The flocked surface grips the glass lightly, and the two bottles sit in separate recesses with the opener beside them. We check the fit the same way on every sample: shake it for ten seconds and listen for movement, tilt it to 45 degrees and watch for sliding, then invert the closed box to confirm nothing releases. Our control tolerance is plus or minus 1 mm on the insert and plus or minus 2 mm on the box body. If your bottle is an unusual shape, we adjust the insert before you approve the blank sample.

Yes. The red door god exterior is a stock design, but we print CMYK from your files. You can replace the artwork entirely, keep the red background and change only the central motif, or adjust colours to match your brand. We make a printed sample before mass production so you can see the final look.

Does the insert fit both Burgundy and Bordeaux bottle shapes?

The insert is a universal card slot liner, not a moulded shape. It holds standard wine and spirit bottles, including Burgundy and Bordeaux profiles. If your bottle has an unusual shoulder or diameter, send us the dimensions or a sample and we will adjust the insert slots before you approve the blank sample.

Is this box strong enough to ship two full bottles without an outer carton?

It is a rigid gift box, not a shipping box. The 1400 g greyboard and reinforced handle are fine for carrying and retail display, but for courier or freight transport we recommend an outer carton. Our in-house checks include a 1.2 m drop test with bottles loaded, but that is to confirm the box survives a fall, not to replace a shipping carton.
