Vintage Foldable Cardboard Wine Box with Ribbon Handle
You want the look of a wooden crate. But not the freight bill. This foldable cardboard wine box gives you that vintage feel. The exterior carries a wood texture. Inside, it's lined in gold. Open the double doors and the bottle sits against that warm, reflective surface. It's built for one bottle. And it closes flat when you're not using it. The ribbon handle makes it easy to carry to a table or hand over at an event. Buyers use it for corporate gifts, retail displays, weddings, holiday sets. It reads as premium. But it ships and stores like a folding carton.
- Double-door structure. The front opens in two panels. That slows the unboxing down a little. It also lets the box fold flat when not in use.
- Vintage wood texture. The exterior is printed to look like aged wood. You get the appearance of a wooden crate without the freight cost or splinter risk.
- Gold inner lining. The interior is lined in gold. It reflects light. The bottle becomes the first thing a recipient notices.
- Ribbon handle. A ribbon handle is attached for carrying. It's practical for handing the box across a counter or carrying it into a dinner.
- Flat storage. The box folds down. So you can keep inventory in less space. Assemble only what you need for an order or event.

Customisation
Change the exterior print, the inner lining colour, the ribbon colour. The box size can be adjusted to fit a different bottle shape. Add a printed logo on the door, the back, or the inside. The structure itself stays the same unless you need a different insert. Tell us your bottle dimensions or send a sample. We'll match the box to it.
How the box is built
Rigid cardboard, not corrugated. That gives clean edges and a firm feel when closed. The double-door front is hinged, so the two panels swing open to reveal the bottle. Vintage wood texture is printed on the outside. Inside, gold paper lines the box.
We recommend greyboard at 1200 g minimum for the base, with 157 g specialty or coated paper facing. That combination holds the fold lines without cracking. Our control tolerance on the box body is plus or minus 2 mm. Corners should sit at 90 degrees when the box is erected.
How the bottle sits
One standard wine bottle fits. But the structure can be adjusted for champagne or other fine beverages. The bottle should not rest on its neck or shoulder. We check that with a four-point hold: supported at the base, body, and two points near the shoulder. Nothing takes weight it shouldn't. Before shipment, we shake the loaded box for 10 seconds. We look for any movement. We also tilt it 45 degrees and invert it. If the bottle slides or releases, the insert is adjusted. The foldable design means the box arrives flat. So the fit is checked on an assembled sample before mass production.
Where it works best
Corporate gift sets. Retail shelf displays. Weddings. Holiday promotions. Anywhere the unboxing matters. The double-door opening and gold lining make it feel more expensive than a standard folding carton. It's not the right choice for long-distance shipping as the primary protective package. The cardboard is rigid, not corrugated. If your bottles travel through multiple courier hubs, pair this with a shipping carton. For hand delivery, counter sales, or event gifting, it does the job. And it stores flat when you're not using it.
Buyer questions
Can this box hold a champagne bottle?
Yes, if we adjust the dimensions. The standard version is built for a 750 ml wine bottle. But the same foldable double-door structure can be sized for champagne or other bottle shapes. Send us your bottle dimensions or a sample. We'll confirm the fit before making the blank sample.
Does the box come assembled?
No, it ships flat. You assemble it by folding the panels into place. That's the point of the foldable design: it saves storage space and freight volume. Assembly is simple. We can send a short video or photo guide with your first order.
Is the ribbon handle strong enough for a full bottle?
The ribbon is attached through reinforced points in the cardboard, not just glued to the surface. We test the loaded box with a 10-second shake and a 45-degree tilt. The handle is part of that check. If you plan to carry the box long distances, ask us to use a wider ribbon or a reinforced attachment.
